Overall, the appointment was quite long but went very well. My cervix is dilated to a 1 and is measuring shorter than it was previously but the fetal fibronectin test came back negative meaning that there is a less than 5% chance that I will deliver within the next two weeks. Dr. F consulted with the peri and they decided to keep me on my current restrictions of resting as much as possible (with the knowledge that I have a toddler and we are moving), pushing fluids, and taking the procardia every 6 hours.
The appointment was long because I had the fetal fibronectin test, a cervix check, a growth ultrasound (for twins), the 1 hour glucose tolerance test, bloodwork, and a shot of RhoGam. Not to mention all of the normal appointment ongoings such as weight (currently at a 26 lb. gain), blood pressure, etc. Dr. F decided not to put me on the monitor today. We both feel pretty certain that I am contracting but since it is not progressing and the fetal fibronectin came back negative I think she felt reassured that I'll be okay until my appointment next week.
Both of the babies look great and are growing right on target. Woohoo! They are both definitely girls. Clara (Twin A) is on the right side and presenting. Anna (Twin B) is on the left side. Both babies are head down. Let's hope they stay that way!!
On the way home, I received a phone call from the nurse. My iron is low so I will be starting iron supplements and I failed my glucose test. I'll be taking the three hour test at my next appointment. :(
A big thanks to my mom for watching Bo (she can lift him again until Monday when she has her other eye done), my MIL for coming down to stay for a few days and driving me to the appointment, and Mike Spieth for coming by and mowing our yard this evening. Everyone's help to keep us going through all of this is greatly appreciated!!

Glad to hear things are going okay. Sounds like you've got some great help. Twin moms are more likely to have GD, but on the plus side they are a bit bigger too sometimes. Are they going to give you steriod shots for their lungs early just in case?
good luck on that 3 hr test - i failed the 1 hour the second time around too. i hope all turns out well! definitely hoping the girls stay head down!!
That sounds like a loooong appointment! Sorry to hear you have to do the 3hr test! Yuck!

What a great appointment. Sorry about the glucose test- though for what it's worth all my friends that failed the first one apssed the second. Hopefully that's you. Sounds like you're doing great on the weight gain- not too much, not too little. I worried with all you've been through and will continue to go through that maybe you would be gaining on the light side- but you sound perfect. Have a good weekend-

Hey Jamie! Sounds great. Just remember to keep taking it as easy as you can.
Try not to worry about the Glucose screen. I had Gest Diab...it wasn't so bad. Just gotta get used to pricking yourself, which I ended up being NUTS about! I did it way more often than I had to, my doc said I was crazy. I am sure you'll be fine!
Mostly wonderful news. Glad the girls look so healthy but its a bummer you have to take the 3 hr glucose test.

Glad to hear things are going so well. I had to take iron supplements too -- almost a given with twin pregnancies. GD is a little more common too; I didn't have it but a friend did with her twins.
I'm so glad to hear the appointment went as well as could be expected and that you feel so confident with your OB.
You amaze me with all you've got on your plate right now. I'm so glad that you are finding the support you need when you need it.
YAY for a healthy BABY weight :) It is so hard to believe you won't have long to go, and all you've had going on! WOW! Busy busy! Keep your head up and your spirits lifted, you are a LUCKY mama :)
